This year, UJC/Jewish Federations of North America is asking that Federations everywhere demonstrate the unity of the Jewish people -- and the collective strength of the Federation system -- by observing two minutes of silence for Yom Hazikaron, the Day of Remembrance for Israel’s fallen soldiers and citizens. UJC would like all of us to join our Israeli brothers and sisters in observing this powerful demonstration of gratitude to people who sacrificed their lives so that Jews everywhere would have a place to call home. To date, 22,205 Israelis have fallen, including 1,639 terror victims. In Jewish Federation offices and Jewish communal agencies across the country, we will observe two minutes of silence tomorrow, April 28, at 11 am Eastern time.
